After recording their first win of the season on Tuesday night in the first round of the League Cup after an extra time win against Tranmere Rovers, City look for their first win in the league against Coventry City.

City scored their first point of the season last Saturday away at Ipswich Town but with Coventry losing star man McSheffery and having a demoralizing defeat to Hereford United in the first round of the League Cup, this could be the perfect time for the Tigers to capitalize.

Can City record their first league victory?

Vital Quotes:

Hull City Team News:

City don’t have any fresh injury worries which makes a pleasant change. Parky may make changes from the side that beat Tranmere with Daryl Duffy and Jon Parkin expected to come into the side to replace Ben Burgess and Stuart Elliott.

On loan Spurs winger Mark Yeates may be involved in the sixteen man squad for the first time since his arrival at the KC.

Damien Delaney, Stephen McPhee and Danny Coles still remain sidelined through injury.

Player to watch: Dary Duffy

Every City fan will be hoping his strike against Tranmere will give Daryl the confidence he needs to start scoring again. If he can get a goal tomorrow, his confidence should be sky high.

Coventry City Team News:

Coventry don’t have too many injury worries for their visit to the KC. Jay Tabb is set to have an operation on his injury and will miss the fixture whilst defender Robert Page looks unlikely to start having just made his comeback this week in a reserve fixture.

Manager Micky Adams may make changes to his starting line-up following an embarrassing 3-1 away defeat in the League Cup to Hereford. The loss of star asset Gary McSheffery may still be affecting the Midlands club.

Player to watch: Stern John

The experienced striker will cause City plenty of problems. The Trinidad and Tobago international has formed a partnership with Dele Adebola that is capable of threatening any Championship defence, and City must be on their guard tomorrow.

Match Facts & Stats

Coventry’s last visit to the KC saw them take all three points. An early Stuart Elliott goal gave the Tigers a half time lead before a spectacular overhead kick from Dennis Wise and a winner from Stern John gave the Sky Blues all three points.

At the Ricoh Arena, City took all three points with a brace from John Welsh proving decisive either side of City right-back Mark Lynch being sent-off.

Match Prediction:

Coventry have lost both away games this season – at Southampton and Cardiff City. Both defeats came without scoring a goal, and whilst City are still searching for their first win, this could be the perfect opportunity.

Micky Adams will be demanding a positive response after defeat at Hereford in midweek but with confidence high at the KC, City may record their first three points of the season.

Vital Hull prediction: Hull City 2 – 0 Coventry City
