Lincoln Defender Watched

Jeff Hughes is a young centre-back currently playing for League 2 outfit Lincoln City. Having been in fine form for the Imps during the season it appears he has attracted the attention of the Tigers.

Taylor sent three scouts to Lincoln’s match versus Notts County and it seems they were impressed with what the defender showed them.

Hughes has recently broken into the Northern Ireland U21 side and has also signed a two year contract extension.

That would mean it would take a sizeable bid from City to prize away their star asset. Many fans wont be pleased with us looking to League 2 for players again but if the player is good enough then it doesn’t matter where he comes from.

We will have to monitor the situation and see what happens. I don’t expect anything to happen before the Summer.

I am in the majority that would like us to go for proven class & pedigree not a league 2 player.
I hope Taylor goes big in the summer.
