Livermore Future In The Balance

John Sheridan, the Oldham Athletic manager will decide today on the future of David Livermore.

The central midfielder has been on loan at Boundary Park for the last month and has been involved in six of the Latics fixtures, scoring one goal during his last outing. With his Hull future cut short, Livermore will hope Sheridan decides to extend his deal otherwise the former Millwall man will return to play in Hull`s reserves for the remainder of the season.

If Livermore plays again for the Tigers, he will automatically be granted a new one year contract, and it was that clause that proved his Hull downfall. As deadline day loomed at the end of January, Phil Brown shocked David Livermore by informing him he would not play for the club again, and the midfielder was hastily sent to Oldham on an initial one month loan agreement.

Whilst natural in midfield, Livermore has been used as a make shift centre-back during his time in Oldham, and that may affect his decision to stay with the League 1 side. If John Sheridan does not make Livermore a new offer, the midfielder will see out his contract with Hull and hope to sign a deal with a new club in the summer.

With Livermore having proved himself a reliable performer in the Championship over the last two years, the tenacious midfielder should have no problem in finding himself a League 1 club at the very least next season.
