Centre half Harry Maguire has spoken about his future and admitted his personal awards this season will count for very little if we fail to avoid relegation.

The BBC have Maguire talking about his future and he insists contract negotiations won’t begin until the end of the Premier League season.

With Hull now sitting in the top relegation spot one point behind Swansea City, Maguire does have a year left on his deal but his performances this year have seen him linked with a summer move to the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Liverpool.

‘Obviously every footballer wants to be playing in the Premier League, myself included. It’s probably the greatest league in the world at the moment. But I’m totally focused on Hull City staying in the Premier League, so new contracts etc – I’ll be discussing those at the end of the season when the football has finished.’

The Official Site also have him talking about his Fans’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year wins at the awards ceremony.

‘It`s been a good season from a personal point of view and it was nice to pick up a couple of awards this week. It all helps with my progression, but it won`t mean very much to me if we can`t get ourselves out of the relegation zone.’

Adding.

‘We`ve worked hard all year and we want to make sure we`re fighting again in the Premier League next season. We still believe there is a twist to come. This time last week we were in the driving seat, but this league is unpredictable and who`s to say there won`t be another turn in it this weekend. We`re all focused on going to Crystal Palace on Sunday and getting the result that we need.’

The other awards winners were.

Player of the Year: Sam Clucas
Players` Player of the Year: Harry Maguire
Fans` Player of the Year: Harry Maguire
Goal of the Season: Sam Clucas (Watford April 2017)
Young Player of the Year: Josh Tymon
Academy Player of the Year: Brandon Fleming
