Hull City striker Aaron Mclean is targeting a positive start to his career at Birmingham City after signing on loan for a month with the St Andrews club.

30 year old Mclean has found his opportunities limited in the Premier League, making just one appearance whilst the striker has also featured fleetingly in the League Cup. The striker, who has impressed in the reserves and youth sides this season, has been a regular scorer and heads straight into the Birmingham side which faces high-flying Blackpool this weekend.

Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, Mclean said; “I`d spoken to Hull and they were happy to let me go away for a month, so it was an easy decision to make,” he said. “The actual move came about pretty quickly but it`s something we`d been looking at for a little while. I haven`t really featured that much in the first-team at Hull.”

“I`m not expecting to come here and walk straight into the team. I`m going to have to work hard in training and hopefully when I get the opportunity I can go out there and show the lads and the fans what I`m about.”

Whilst Mclean has been allowed to leave, Steve Bruce is concerned that Sunderland striker Danny Graham may be recalled in the New Year. Relegation threatended Sunderland have the option to recall the former Swansea striker in January and Gus Poyet may consider such a move if Sunderland are still struggling in the Premier League.

Sone Aluko meanwhile will be staying at the club according to Steve Bruce. Despite a revised deal having not been agreed with the Nigerian who is out of contract at the end of the season, City will not be tempted to sell in January. National reports have linked tomorrow`s opponents, Crystal Palace; with a move.
