Hull City players have missed out being included in the PFA team of the year, despite sitting third in the table.

Phil Brown has turned last season`s relegation strugglers into this season`s surprise promotion candidates, with automatic promotion still achievable with a final day win at Ipswich providing Stoke City lose to Leicester.

West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City, who occupy the top two, dominate the selection with the clubs each represented three times. Bristol City have two players, with Watford, Wolves and Barnsley each having one representative.

As a result, the likes of Michael Turner and Fraizer Campbell, who have been in fine form this season, have missed out on any such recognition in the latest evidence of the national media ignoring Hull City, despite their fantastic achievements in the league this season.

The PFA Championship Team of the year is below:

Wayne Hennessey (Wolves)
Bradley Orr (Bristol City)
Ryan Shawcross (Stoke City)
Dan Shittu (Watford)
Paul Robinson (West Brom)
Brian Howard (Barnsley)
Marvin Elliott (Bristol City)
Liam Lawrence (Stoke City)
Jonathan Greening (West Brom)
Ricardo Fuller (Stoke City)
Kevin Phillips (West Brom)
