A match between Hull City and Cardiff City will always evoke memories from May 2013, an afternoon when a dramatic 2-2 saw Hull City promoted to the Premier League alongside their Welsh rivals, aided by some dodgy keeping and a Leeds United winner at Vicarage Road.

Nine months on, both sides are amidst a number of sides facing s relegation battle with Cardiff having already changed their manager following a disappointing run of results, some ill-advised transfer activity and an overzealous owner.

City travel to Cardiff looking to build on an important win at Sunderland whilst Cardiff will look for a response following a 3-0 loss to Welsh rivals Swansea City. Hull City are boosted by the return to fitness of James Chester, who was named on the bench at Brighton, whilst Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic will be brought back into the first-team after being cup-tied on Monday.

Cardiff have former Tiger Fraizer Campbell (who inevitably always scores against his former side) but are without influential midfielder Gary Medel. Craig Bellamy completes the last of his three game suspension whilst Mark Hudson is also sidelined and set to miss the rest of the season.

Earlier in the season, the two sides drew 1-1 at the KC.
