Hull City started a hectic March with a point thanks to a last minute goal from Matty Fryatt.

You could argue that it was an undeserved equaliser, but Blackpool had started to sit back and defend after an attacking display which demonstrated why they are challengers for promotion from the Championship.

The home side, sitting in the top six and strong at home, started brightly and were only denied by the heroics of Vito Mannone in goal. The on loan Arsenal keeper was seeking a seventh consecutive clean sheet to break a long-standing club record, and appeared on his way after tipping over two looping efforts as Blackpool exerted the early pressure.

Having not been beaten in the league since re-joining the club, it took something special to eventually find its way past the Italian. Despite an apparent foul on Aaron Mclean in the Blackpool half, the Seasider`s broke forward, Ince able to brush past Andy Dawson. A one-two followed to give Ince space and he struck an unstoppable effort past Mannone from distance.

City`s best chance had earlier fallen to Mclean who saw his effort cleared off the line, but in truth City were poor and created little.

The same happened for most of the second half as Mannone was again alert to deny Kevin Phillips on two occasions. The returning Seyi Olofinjana was substituted for Corry Evans, and City started to get a control of the midfield, with fellow substitute Joshua King adding some drive from the wing.

Mark Cullen was also given a surprise run-out and managed to impress with some direct running in a brief fifteen minute cameo appearance. Substitute King stung the palms of Matt Gilks while the same player also directed his header straight at the keeper as City started to press for an equaliser.

As Blackpool went defensive, a late corner caused panic. Hobbs returned the ball to McKenna and when James Chester headed the ball towards goal, Matty Fryatt turned to prod into the top corner to earn City a vital point at the start of a month which will go a long way to deciding the season`s success.
