Hull City trio Jack Hobbs, Robert Koren and Matty Fryatt were named in the Championship team of the week following a convincing display on Saturday afternoon.

All three found themselves on the score sheet as City overcame a lacklustre Bristol City side 3-0 to move back into the top six of the Championship, setting up a crucial and eagerly anticipated promotion show-down with third placed Birmingham City on Tuesday night.

Nick Barmby`s team will arrive in a confident move after dispatching Saturday`s relegation threatened opponents with ease. City found themselves two up within the first fifteen minutes. First, Jack Hobbs stooped to head in a Robert Koren corner which deflected into the Bristol City net, his first goal in three years before Robert Koren headed in City`s second just two minutes later after connecting with Robbie Brady`s perfect right wing cross.

The away side rarely threatened but did hit the bar through Adomah, a feat they matched in the second half when Marvin Elliott hit the bar before Andy Dawson cleared off the line.

By the time of Bristol City`s second goal threat, Matty Fryatt had sealed the win with his first goal in two months, rounding David James from Robert Koren`s through-ball. Scoring his 9th of the season, the goal could have been his 10th had he not earlier spurned a similar one on one opportunity when he tried to chip David James from close range.

City head to St Andrew`s with no injury worries, looking to overtake their opponents with a win that would draw may parallels to the 2007/8 season victory at West Bromwich Albion – a defining moment of that season`s promotion.
