Hull City have completed a deal for Manchester United striker Eddie Johnson, report BBC Radio Stoke.

The 21-year-old has been on loan with Crewe Alexandra since July 2005 and Crewe boss Dario Gradi was keen to keep him until the end of the season.

But United have now agreed a deal with Hull for Johnson, who scored four goals in 18 appearances for Crewe, including one against the Tigers on Boxing Day.

The deal is expected to be finalised in the next 24 hours, which would mean he is elligable to play in the F.A Cup tie against Aston Villa
