Tigers Satisfied With Point

Saturday’s last minute equaliser saw Hull City move off the bottom of the league, and most fans were satisfied with the point.

After the disappointing performance that the travelling City fans had to witness at Queens Park Rangers, the desire and battle shown by City against Palace was a welcome sight. Without doubt, the return of Peter Taylor along with ex-City players Leon Cort and Stuart Green will have spurred the team on to get a result, but it so nearly didn’t happen.

With City trailing, it took a last minute winner from defender Michael Turner to cancel out Leon Cort’s fine second half strike. Quite how the ball eluded everyone and bobbled into the net still isn’t clear to me, but it went in and City fans were satisfied with a point. In truth, City could have taken all three as Peter Taylor tried to defend his one goal advantage.

Unsurprisingly, as was seen with City on too many occasions, Taylor’s team failed to hold out and City even had the chances to take all three points as Crystal Palace lost all sort of defensive shape.

However, not everyone was happy and 31& of readers said they were unhappy with the performance shown. City only equalised with a last minute header but the game was even throughout and Crystal Palace rarely threatened the City goal. On the one real occasion they did, Cort’s strike resulted in a goal.

Fortunately, the game did show promise and 22% of readers are encouraged for the future. With City moving off the bottom during the international break, the table doesn’t look quite so bad and with numerous teams still bunched together, a few wins could see City move away from the drop zone. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as an easy game and away fixtures at Burnley and Preston North End certainly look like daunting tasks given their current league positions.

City will come good – give Parkinson the time and the support and I am sure we will start to turn the corner. Please have faith and let’s get behind the team in two weeks time at Turf Moor. I’m happy with the point, but not the second half, we still need to improve. We have a little time with the break to work on things.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that the commitment was there on Saturday, and it showed. Its a start.

I agree with your comments – the commitment was definitely there. We can move on from here positively and take the points we need to move up the table. Yeates looks good to me.

Whilst not perfect by any means, it was a good morale booster and gives a platform to build on after the break. I think Hull will come out of this match far better than Palace will.

good time to take a break for two weeks IMO …

Delaney will be back , maybe he will challenge Dawson for a place ?

    Coles, Mills, Turner, Delaney

Interesting back four there I think
