Few can argue with the choice after a fantastic season for the former Brentford man, who was not only immense at the back, but weighed in with some vital goals as the Tigers stormed into a third-placed finish. He also won the players player of the year and the City magazine player of the year.

2007/08 has been a remarkable turnaround for Turner who was often heavily criticised when first signed by Phil Parkinson in 2006. It appears to be something of a travesty that he was not selected in the PFA divisional team of the year given his form, which caught the eye of Celtic who were rumoured to be lining up a £1million bid.

Jamie Devitt won the young player of the season, despite not yet breaking into the first team. This is a good acheivement given that the likes of Nicky Featherstone have made first team appearences.

There was also some well-deserved recognition for the outstanding club skipper Ian Ashbee who was awarded the inaugral Chairmans outstanding contribution award. Well done to all winners, and lets hope they will be adding to their medal collection on May 24.
