Vital Hull asked you to vote for our player of the season, and here are the results.

The winner, with thirty percent of the vote was City defender Michael Turner.

The centre-back was signed from Brentford in the summer, with the defender being regarded as the best defender in League 1 by City manager Phil Parkinson. However, Turner’s career at the KC started slowly as the tall defender struggled to fill the void left by the sale of Leon Cort.

With questions being asked over the players performances, Turner was dropped before returning to the City side that travelled to Elland Road in December. The performance that afternoon transformed the player, and during the second half of the season, Turner has formed a solid partnership with Damien Delaney.

As well as being a good defender, Turner has also scored vital goals, with last minute efforts earning points against Crystal Palace and Norwich City whilst his stunning volley from the edge of the area against Luton Town may have been the turning point that saw the Tigers achieve Championship survival.

In second place came City goalkeeper Boaz Myhill, with the shot-stopper having another successful season at the club.

The keeper was signed from Aston Villa for only £50,000 and yet again the rumours have already started regarding a possible multi-million pound transfer to a Premiership club.

Although the City keeper is a great shot-stopper, the question remains over his kicking and his command of his area, but these are two aspects of his game that can be worked upon over the pre-season break.

In third place was Dean Windass with thirteen percent of the vote. The City striker may have only joined in January but his impact on City’s survival push has been immense.

Although his partnership with Jon Parkin was a failure, Deano soon established himself as a first-team regular over the clubs former top scorer. Having made fifteen appearances, scoring eight goals, including the one that may have ensured Championship survival against Cardiff City last weekend, the veteran striker fully merits his inclusion in the end of season awards.

Rumours have already started with Phil Brown stating his desire to sign the Bradford striker permanently, with a deal expected to be finalised in the next few weeks.

You can now vote for the ‘Game of the season’ by selecting your choice on the right hand of the screen.

From Vital Hull, congratulations Michael Turner.
