Over the last few weeks, we have run a poll asking you; Who is the Tiger’s player of the season?

The votes are in and we can reveal the winner!

With just under half of the votes, Boaz Myhill is Vital’s player of the season with a total of 47% of the votes.

The goalkeeper has been instrumental in City’s survival this season. His shot-stopping has kept the Tigers in many games this season and without him we may have struggled to survive in the Championship.

His performances have been of such a standard that he has been linked with a move to the Premiership with clubs such as Charlton, Wigan and Arsenal being linked.

Boaz also earned an international call up by Wales but elected to turn it down in order to try and force his way into the England set-up, such is his ambition.

Boaz’s most memorable game this season came in the away game at Stoke City. The Tigers came away with a 3-0 victory but Boaz Myhill saved two penalties during the match from Paul Gallagher and Luke Chadwick, making the game a memorable one for the goalkeeper.

Boaz has only missed one game during the season after he was wrongly sent off at Queens Park Rangers for handling the ball outside of the area. Apart from that, Boaz has been a commanding presence in goal and is the deserved winner of Vital’s player of the season!

In second place came Leon Cort who recorded 29% of the votes.

My player of the season, Leon Cort has been a dominating figure at centre-back. Despite the back-line being changed many times through the season by Taylor, Leon has remained a constant performer at the back.

Although some fans thought he may struggle, Leon has shone as one of City’s brightest prospects. His tackling and reading of the game have helped City out on several occasions and the big centre-half also contributes in the goals department.

A key figure at corner-kicks, Leon is a danger who has to be marked effectively, something the likes of Norwich and Ipswich forgot to do!

With the assured Myhill behind him, Leon will have grown in confidence from Myhill’s presence. In recent weeks, his re-united partnership with Damien Delaney has seen the Tigers keep four clean sheets in their last seven, conceding only four goals.

One thing is sure – Leon Cort will be a key figure of City’s team next season.

Despite only joining during the January transfer window, Jon Parkin came in third place with 14% of the votes.

If Parkin didn’t arrive at the KC, who knows where we would have finished. Parkin was the kind of striker we had been missing and he immediately became a City icon.

A goal on his debut against Crystal Palace was soon followed up with goals against Stoke and Luton.

His most memorable moment of the season will be his winner against Leeds United which gave City bragging rights over their more illustrious Yorkshire rivals.

Parkin’s touch and control is exemplary for a big man and he has formed a good striking partnership with Craig Fagan. Hopefully, there is more to come from the Beast next season.

Other City player’s who were in the reckoning for the award were Craig Fagan who received 4% of the votes and Keith Andrews and John Welsh who both received 3% of the overall votes.

Vital Hull would like to say…Well done Boaz!!
