Phil Brown and his Hull side have had a successful Christmas period after picking up ten points from a possible twelve.
Brown’s side managed to record three home wins against Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and yesterday against Sheffield Wednesday whilst picking up a very creditable point away at Charlton Athletic which could have so easily been three.
The recent run has propelled Hull City into eighth place in the Championship, one point off Plymouth Argyle who occupies the final play-off spot and the fans have again started to talk of a play-off finish come the end of the season.
Although the season is only just about to enter January, the league has shown so far that anyone can beat anyone, and that we should fear no-one we come up against. Apart from West Brown, it appears the rest of the league is up for grabs and a successful January could see City have real aspirations of a lofty finish come the end of the season.
A lot will also depend on the moves in the transfer window which opens tomorrow. Hull manager Phil Brown has already been linked with Colchester’s Karl Duguid whilst the talk with Sir Alex Ferguson over Fraizer Campbell is still to take place, contrary to some media reports.
