Board member matty17x submitted the poll question, ‘Who is the best goalkeeper outside of the Premiership?’ and Vital Hull can reveal the results.

As many would have expected, Hull City’s Boaz Myhill was voted the best with 87% of the votes.

Myhill was voted the Tigers player of the season last year and was the major factor which contributed to Hull City maintaining their Championship status at the first attempt. Myhill’s impressive performances also attracted the interest of Premiership sides Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic as well as earning him an international call-up from Wales. His finest day last year came away at Stoke City where he managed to save two penalties as the Tigers went on to a three nil victory.

However, such is Myhill’s ambition and confidence in his own ability, he turned down the opportunity to play for Wales in order to fight for a place in the England national team. Boaz Myhill has been a real revelation this season and hopefully he can carry it into next year’s campaign.

West Brom’s relegated goalkeeper Thomas Kusczak was voted in second position whilst Norwich’s Robert Green came in third.

Thomas Kusczak was an impressive shot-stopper in the Premiership last year and is a crucial asset if West Brom which to get promoted at the first attempt. If he provides the same standard of performances as he did last year, he will be one of the Championship’s outstanding goalkeepers.

Robert Green was part of the England squad that went to this year’s World Cup but a last minute injury in an England B international ruled him out of the competition. Green is always linked with a move to the Premiership but I can’t see why. Green is ultimately an over-rated goalkeeper.

You can now vote on the new poll – ‘Which team are you most looking forward to playing this season?
