Hull City have a bid on the table for the Scottish striker, and now he has revealed he would like to join the Tigers.

The striker has told friends and family he would like to leave Falkirk, and sees the Tigers as the perfect club to move to.

City have offered a deal rumoured to be around the £250,000 mark – in what would be a club record amount – in order to entice Falkirk to sell.

Falkirk have tried to keep their asset by offering the player a new contract but City are still waiting to see whether they have been succesful in their bid.

Sources have said: ‘Darryl wants to move to England and would relish a chance to sign for Hull. He’s very excited about their interest.’

Taylor added: ‘It’s nice to know that he’s apparently saying he would like to come here but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.’

Peter taylor and Adam Pearson have not put a deadline on the deal but you would expect they would like to have the player signed before City’s next league game on January 14th.

However, they have warned City will not be drawn into a public bidding war for the striker. Taylor is rumoured to be looking for another striker, along with Duffy, to bolster his strikeforce.

Taylor said: ‘We are very unfortunate to lose Steve McPhee and Ben Burgess with injuries.

‘That means we’ve only got Billy Paynter and Craig Fagan which leaves us very light.

‘When you look at nearly all the other clubs in our division, they have four players who can score goals. It is an area where we are lacking.’

Craig fagan may return for the cup game this weekend, but will not play unless he is 100% fit.

Ben Burgess has returned to Switzerland to consult the specialist who saved his career just over 20 months ago – now hoping he can do the same again.

Burgess injured the same knee in November during the 1-1 home draw with Southampton, but City have stated the injury is not to the extent of the previous one, and could return by the end of next month.

All at hull.vitalfootball.co.uk wish ben all the luck with his recovery, and hope to see him pull on the black and amber shirt again in the near future.
