Carl Jenkinson could be allowed to leave Arsenal this summer for a loan spell away from the Emirates Stadium, which if he does Hull would be interested.

Steve Bruce is quoted on sky sports as having lodged an interest for the England right back and having been informed by Arsene Wenger that this could be an option, which if it is he would certainly be interested.

He said: ‘I had a conversation with Arsenal about four or five weeks ago to see if it was possible. And apparently so, it might be.

‘We’ll look at that situation but we haven’t had confirmation from Arsenal. I would hate to speak out of turn but we are led to believe the kid might be available – and if he is, then of course we would be interested.’

The ‘understanding’ from sky sports is that we would face competition from West Ham United, Swansea City and Sunderland if we want to sign him.

A long-term future is something that Jenkinson wants at Arsenal, with Arsenal wanting this too having secured him on a long-term contract last season, but the chance of a season away on loan to a premier league side could be beneficial to all parties and reignite his England chances.
