Craig Fagan – Finding Form?

Craig Fagan appears to have found a new lease of life.

Rewind back a couple of months to when Hull City hosted Coventry City at the KC Stadium. That night saw Fagan left out of the squad due to discipline problems, leading to rumors of a training ground bust-up and the possibility of a loan move away from the club.

Craig Fagan was reportedly unhappy at being asked to play on the right wing, but he put that to one side and made his return to action in the following match at Luton.

Despite a short run in the team, he was dropped again after the Millwall game in order to provoke a positive reaction from the player and it appears Taylor has now got what he wanted.

Since coming on at half-time in the Tigers must win game against Plymouth Argyle, Craig Fagan has been a changed man.

His winning goal against Plymouth ensured the Tigers picked up all three points in their must win encounter and set the Tigers on their current four game unbeaten run.

A significant factor in Fagan’s recent form has been the presence of Jon Parkin. Now, Fagan has a player who can hold up the ball for him, allowing Fafan to make runs down the channels and in behind the defence.

Earlier on in the season, Fagan had to hold the ball up himself but since the arrival of Parkin, Fagan has been able to play the role he wants to.

All the problems of his discipline in training seem to have moved on and Fagan is now flourishing. If he continues his form during the last five games of the season, Fagan will have to be viewed as an integral part of next season’s plans.

Fagan has been a bit of a revelation recently. He always gives 100% to the cause and he will win over fans like that. Someone like Duffy in the Leeds game wouldn’t have done half as much running as Fagan did during that match.
