Defender Michael Dawson has said he’s delighted to have made the move to Hull City and he’s looking forward to following in family footsteps.

Speaking to the Official Site after signing his three year deal after the club came to an agreement with Spurs, he admitted it was a difficult choice to leave a club he’s been at for almost ten years, but Hull felt like the best possible move for him.

‘I know this club well and obviously there is some family history with my brother Andy having been here. I’m just excited about getting started now. The whole football club made it an attractive move to me – the manager, the players, the fans. I feel ready and raring to go.’

Dawson says that this season will be a different challenge for Hull and it’s his aim now to help us improve in the league and hopefully continue our European adventures, and it’s going to be different mainly because survival isn’t just the aim, the aim is to try and build on what we achieved last season and he knows it will be a difficult challenge to do that, but he feels everybody is up for it.

Dawson has joined the lads for training for the first time today, and it shouldn’t take him long to settle in given how well he knows Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore.

In a separate interview, Dawson also commented that if he could have ahlf the career his brother did with us then it would be ‘amazing’ for him.

Andy’s involvement saw us through all four divisions, four promotions and a testimonial season, and whilst Michael isn’t looking for those kinds of dramatics he knows if he can have half of the success Andy did, then he’ll have played his part in helping us to our aims.

This site is looking for a new editor but would also like your blogs, so if a fan can offer us a genuine opinion from someone that supports Hull City we would love to share it with the masses!
