Hull City are represented in the latest League Cup team of the round that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Michael Dawson in the two one fourth round victory over Bristol City last midweek at Ashton Gate was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the League Cup competition.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Dawson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the EFL Cup blurb read.

‘Dawson produced a fine defensive display and grabbed the winning goal as the Tigers edged past Bristol City. Fellow defender Harry Maguire also netted, while Curtis Davies cleared a late effort off the line in what was a great performance by the Tigers’ back three.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Dawson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the win and progression through to the next round.
