Fagan To Miss Burnley Fixture?

Speaking on Radio Humberside yesterday, caretaker manager Phil Brown revealed that Hull City’s Craig Fagan may miss today’s game.

The Hull City winger has become a sudden doubt before today’s crucial figure, leading many fans to believe the player is set for a move away from the KC. Yesterday, reports suggested promotion chasing Derby County were interested in the striker, but nothing has been made official.

Speaking after the defeat to Leicester City on Boxing Day, Fagan revealed to the public insights into his contract at the club. Fagan’s current deal ends in the summer and with the player appearing to have no desires of playing in League 1 next season, City chairman Adam Pearson must decide whether to cash in on the player now or risk losing him for nothing.

Fagan’s absence from today’s team may be down to injury but after coming through the Leicester City game unscathed, it is hard to see where this injury has come from. Unfortunately, in today’s game, when a player is missing from the squad, he is usually on his way out.

Although it would be a huge blow to lose the striker, Fagan’s potential transfer fee may be crucial in strengthening the squad. However, the club can not afford to get the recruitment of new player wrong again. Following a summer of disastrous signings, any new signings must be the right ones.

Before and after today’s match, we should all know where Craig Fagan stands in the future of Hull City AFC.

Its happened before and it’ll happen again. City have always had to be a selling club throughout the past, and will probably have to keep being so. Fagan has been a good servant to the club, despite his spats with the manager!

Are we mad, selling our best player when we need to improve. Surely there isnt money pressure as I thought we had plenty from our large gates.
Funny, just as I thought Brown had blown it, he gets backed further? The Cardiff game was a flash in the pan and prob more due to their poor form. I don’t want Megson either but don’t have another option to suggest…
…..its all looking grim and all I can see working a big, no huge, spend this coming month on about four/five quality players and to clear out some of those players that have not cut it in the higher division, which covers a fair number, sadly.
AP needs to consider the cost of relegation, its got to be many millions. The money may as well be spent on keeping us up instead. PP has been a costly mistake but now is the time for digging deeper and putting the ‘premiership in two’ plan back on track

Maybe Brown is the way forward afterall! Well done Tigers!
