Peter Taylor has revealed that goalkeeper Matt Duke and midfielder Russell Fry may be given the chance to play against Preston North End at the KC Stadium this Saturday.

Both players were named on the bench in the Tigers last outing at Derby County but both featured as unused substitutes.

Matt Duke has had limited opportunities this season due to the fine form of Boaz Myhill. A brief loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers was cut short when he had to be recalled by the Tigers after Boaz Myhill was sent off at Queens Park Rangers.

This brought about Matt Duke’s only first team appearance this season where he kept a clean sheet against Cardiff City in the 2-0 victory at the KC in December.

Russell Fry has been a constant feature of the Tigers reserve team but hasn’t been able to force his way into the first team setup.

However, Taylor looks set to reward Fry with his contribution for the reserves by giving him some first team action against Preston at the weekend.

However, Taylor may opt not to use either player as he believes it could be unfair on the other teams in the play-offs if he fields a weekend team.

Since the four play-off teams are decided, Taylor should reward some of the fringe players with a chance in the first team this weekend and ignore what other teams and managers may think.

Taylor’s hand may be forced on playing Russell Fry after it was revealed Stuart Elliott may miss the game with a knee injury.

With only two games of the season remaining and the Tigers season already over, Taylor won’t rush Elliott back into the first-team.

Whatever team Taylor chooses to play, there is only one thing they need to do and that is to give 100%!!
