Hull City striker Matty Fryatt has agreed to join Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on an initial one month loan deal.

The out of favour forward, who has only featured twice in the League Cup so far this season, has been allowed to leave for Bruce as the striker aims to regain his confidence following a year out with an Achilles injury.

Fryatt nearly left the club on deadline day but a move to Nottingham Forest failed to materialise whilst Birmingham City have also declared interest but missed out with Fryatt opting to join Sheffield Wednesday in order to play more games.

Fryatt`s agent, speaking in the Hull Daily Mail said; “Matty just wants to go and play some games, hopefully score some goals, and then see where things go from there. He has a proven track record of goal-scoring. He scored 25 goals in 62 starts at Hull, and averaged one in two when at Leicester City. Unfortunately, after his injury last season, he came back a little early, but now after a full pre-season he has not had a chance in the Premier League, as Steve has often gone with more defenders on the bench.”

Matty Fryatt will be involved in the Sheffield Wednesday squad which faces Doncaster Rovers at Hillsbrough tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Conor Townsend has extended his loan with Carlisle United by a further two months. The League One side were struggling prior to Townsend`s arrival but despite being just 20 years old, Townsend has adapted well to League One and is helping Carlisle perform well.

Fryatt will get games at Sheffield Wednesday. With 5 games in the mont, hopefully Fryatt can start to find his scoring touch; we all know he is very capable at that level.
