It’s being reported tonight that Hull City have now formally opened talks with Leicester City over striker Ahmed Musa.

A potential deal was hinted at a few days ago but all went quiet, however earlier this evening Sky Sports were reporting that talks were now officially underway.

Musa played previously for Hull head coach Leonid Slutsky during his four year spell at CSKA Moscow so they know each other well, and the deal would be a season long loan deal.

The 24 year old Nigerian international joined Leicester last summer for £16.6million but despite showing moments where he’s impressed, he hasn’t really established himself in the starting line up, making only 14 appearances from the start with a further 19 from the bench. In that time he’s returned five goals.

He’s yet to appear in the Premier League for Leicester this season, but did find the net in their League Cup victory over Sheffield United.

Wow a whopping £16 million last year, granted transfers have got completely out of hand and football surely is shooting itself in the foot.£16 million,no player is worth that amount however it wouldn’t raise an eyebrow now with premiership managers. These ever increasing fees for players is destroying the game.Greedy players demanding obscene wages. They are always defended with the same arguement that their playing career is short, that’s not something that can warrant a quarter of a million a week for some,so essentially in a month they can earn what the average working person earns in a lifetime, anyone who says that’s OK is crazy and deluded. The fans are forced to spend huge sums to follow their teams, the clubs should give something back to their loyal followers.Give season ticket holders a free home or away shirt,it probably would pay for itself with increased season ticket sales, the actual cost of making one of those shirts is a tiny fraction of the retail price.Clubs, please listen, give something back to the fans and do something to stop the game exploding and destroying itself.
