Hull City’s centre-back Michael Turner was selected in this weeks Championship team of the week.

The City defender was selected in the team after his display against play-off chasing Colchester United during the 1-1 draw at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

After a shaky start to his City career, Phil Parkinson’s purchase has slowly become one of the most consistent performers this season.

His partnership with Damien Delaney has started to flourish and they must continue to work well together if the club is to survive in the Championship this season.

Turner has made thirty-nine league appearances this season, scoring three vital goals along the way, all of which were pivotal in City acquiring points. Of Turner’s three goals, two have come during injury time at the end of the second half, helping City to acquire an extra five points.

The rest of the ‘team of the week’ can be seen below:

Nick Colgan (Barnsley)

Graham Alexander (Preston)
Michael Turner (Hull City)
Matt Heath (Leeds United)
Michael Gray (Leeds United)

Chris Sedgwick (Preston)
Gavin Williams (Ipswich)

Danny Pugh (Preston)

Jay Bothroyd (Wolves)
Daniel Nardielo (Barnsley)

I didn’t think he had that good a game to get in the team of the week though!

Must agree matt, didn’t rate his performance on Saturday- quite often is turned by the attacker, and challenges that left us wide open when missed.
