Hull City have discovered that City striker Nick Barmby will be out for six weeks and not the season as first thought.

The striker underwent exploratory surgery on Monday in order to reveal the extent of his injury and many Tigers fans will be relieved to hear the news that Nick Barmby is not out for the season as initially thought.

Phil Brown has already acted quickly in the transfer market to fill the void left by Barmby’s injury by bringing home striker Dean Windass. Deano is expected to play the Nick Barmby position a week today when the Tigers take on relegation candidates Leeds United.

Nick Barmby’s surgery on his ankle means he has not teamed up with his team-mates who have flown out to Portugal for some warm weather training. In similar style, Leeds United are preparing for their visit to the KC in the sunny regions of Cyprus.

Hull still have 5,000 tickets remaining for next week’s Yorkshire derby so be sure to go to the KC and support the boys in this critical fixture.
