The referee for Sunday`s Ipswich -vs- Hull game will be Andrew Marriner from the West Midlands.

The premiership referee has been in charge of 38 games this season, showing 112 yellow cards and six red cards this season. Having been mainly in charge of Premiership affairs this season, Marriner has officiated in Championship games only nine times this season but due to the importance of this Sunday`s match, the FA have acted to assign a top referee.

Marriner has shown seven yellow cards in a match on two occasions, although his last outing which saw him take charge of Derby County`s heavy defeat to Arsenal saw him keep his cards in his pocket.

Marriner has not been in charge of a game involving the Tigers since March 2004, when Rochdale were beaten 1-0 thanks to a stunning strike by Damien Delaney. That game saw two yellow cards issued.
