Vito Mannone has made a surprising return to first team training.
Having been expected to be ruled out for the remainder of the season after aggravating a historic injury during the win over Nottingham Forest, the on loan Arsenal keeper is now in contention for a first-team spot when Doncaster Rovers visit the KC Stadium this weekend.
Mannone`s presence in training was his first for six weeks since a reoccurrence of a thigh injury, and will hope to be named in the eighteen man squad this weekend.
Matt Duke deputised on Tuesday night with Brad Guzan`s loan spell ending after victory over Watford.
However, an immediate return for Mannone would all but seal Matt Duke`s exit, with the experienced keeper out of contract in the summer and with few opportunities left to earn a new deal.
