Interest in Boaz Myhill is growing according to BBC Sport, who claim three Premier League sides are tracking the City goalkeeper.

Long term rumoured admirers Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be one of the three monitoring Myhill`s situation, along with Fulham and West Bromwich Albion as all three sides keep track of the 27 year old goalkeeper, capped eight times by Wales.

With two years remaining on his current contract, City have set an asking price of £2 million on the US born keeper, who has been with the club since 2003, being one of four players to play for Hull City from Division 3 to the Premier League.

A vital part of the side during those promotion winning years, Myhill lost his place in the side towards the latter half of last season, seeing Matt Duke emerge as the number one keeper.

However, with Iain Dowie having vacated his temporary role and Nigel Pearson installed as manager, it remains to be seen whether Myhill will feature in the new manager`s plans.

Based on form from last season, I think Duke deserves to be number one at the moment, but I would worry that the likes of Oxley aren’t experienced enough to act as a back-up.

Perhaps the £2M and loss of salary will enable Duke to take the #1 jersey, and the extra cash used partly for team strengthening, and a decent keeper loaned in from Prem League.

Been a good servant to the club, but perhaps an opportune time for club and player if the situation allows and good money for the coffers is a serious consideration at present.

No great loss, he’s a good shot stopper but his decision making on set pieces leaves a lot to desired so let’s hope we get a decent amount for him – onward and upward!!
