Taylor is returning to the Withdean for the first time since he departed Brighton after leading them to the Division 2 title in 2001/02.

Taylor has called on his players to complete a hatrick of succesive league wins and ease any relegation fears, and plunge Brighton deeper into them.

Brighton have now been agreed to finally build there new stadium – a point which at the time led to Taylor’s resignation – and now believes this could cause a positive turn in Brighton’s form.

Taylor is happy with the current form, and although the performances in recent victories haven’t been the best, the Tigers have picked up points, and Taylor would take another 23 games like that.

‘We’re pleased with the run and we’re pleased with the togetherness of the team. We have been very solid. That’s the reason we’ve got the eight points from the four matches – because everyone has worked so hard for it.’

‘If we have another 23 games that aren’t pretty and we stay in the division then I will be one very, very happy manager. The players are a lot happier coming in to training. You can see that but at the same time, they know they can’t afford to get carried away on the back of two wins.’

‘We still haven’t got enough points and we’ve got to kick on. Brighton are going to be scrapping for everything. They’ll be saying it’s a game they have to win.’

Although the return from injruies of Price, Andrews and Dawson have helped eased the pressure, Taylor is expected to stick with the same formation and team that picked up a victory in the last outing against Sheffield Wednesday – something which hasn’t happened too often this season.

‘Tonight is the start of six matches in a very short space of time so it will be a squad thing over the Christmas and New Year period. You’ve got to be very, very lucky not to use your whole squad.’

‘At least, we have got players back. It looks like Danny Coles and Alton Thelwell could join in at the end of next month so the options are starting to improve although we have still got long-term injuries.’
