We Must Battle

Barmby leads the Tigers to Brighton tonight looking for a third succesvie win of the season. He has insisted that the last two victories haven’t been pretty but our paramount to our survival.

‘We’ve had two good results against Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday. Last week was a battling performance really but we needed to scrap out some wins.’

‘I don’t think we played particularly well football-wise in either game but in fairness you would take the two wins. It’s a result business. It’s not about being pretty. When you need wins, it’s about getting the three points.’

A win tonight would lift City ten points clear of opposition Brighton, and only fie points behind the play-offs going into Saturday’s games.

Barmby has called upon team-mates to capatalise on a great opportunity in coming weeks to move themselves clear of the relegation zone.

‘We’ve worked really hard to turn things round but we’ve got to build on that. The lads are confident and hopefully in the second half of the season we can show we are capable of doing well in this league.’

‘It’s a fantastic opportunity for us with the next three games coming up, and there are a lot of points up for grabs, but we are not going to take anyone lightly.’

Barmby is set to continue playing on the left side of midfield and has said he is happy with his new role.

‘I just need to keep it going but the main thing is the team. I’m doing the job on the left. It’s no problem. I’ve played there before.’

‘I’ve have got a licence to come inside but when you are playing in midfield, you’ve got to be disciplined.’
