Head coach Leonid Slutsky has spoken of his frustration at seeing Hull City concede a stoppage time equaliser against Norwich City this weekend.

Heading to Carrow Road for the game, Nouha Dicko had given us the advantage just ahead of he half hour mark, but six minutes into stoppage time Nelson Oliveira equalised for the hosts and Slutsky was left thinking about what might have been given we were down to ten men and had held off Norwich despite them dominating possession and chances on the day.

Speaking to the Official Site as he met with the media for his post game press conference, a disappointed gaffer explained.

‘I think we have all kinds of terrible feelings inside. It is difficult to analyse the Norwich goal because it was the last chance, the last throw – a long throw where they had everybody in the box. They were the first to react to the flick-on. They scored not after five minutes of added time, but in the sixth minute of added time. But that is the referee’s decision and it is difficult to speak about this.’

Asked on whether he thought Hull had done enough to take our first away victory of the season, he went on to say.

‘We played with ten men for the last 35 minutes and that is very difficult. We showed character and played compactly. We had good discipline but this is the fifth time that we have conceded at the end of a game. The first time I said it was a test for us, the second time I said it was a serious test but now it is difficult to analyse.’

He added.

‘I am proud about the level at which we played, especially coming back after an international break because the first game can be unpredictable. Seven of our starting eleven had been away for international matches.’

With Meyler being sent off for two bookable offences, Slutsky went on to say.

‘I must respect each decision by the referee. Of course each coach will disagree with the referee some times. It was his decision. It is his job. I must respect his job. Meyler is frustrated. He is more disappointed with the foul than the referee’s decision.’

With Dicko scoring his first goal for the club following his arrival over the summer.

‘I was asked a similar question about Fraizer Campbell a couple of weeks ago. When he got his first goal, he then went and scored another soon after. I think it is the same situation for Dicko and for each forward that scores. If we can speak about positive moments after the outcome of this game, then the goal for Dicko is one of them. He played well and it was a good performance from him.’
