Head coach Leonid Slutsky has said that he feels Hull City are in a false position in the Championship table at this moment in time, and Nouha Dicko is confident we’ll soon show improvement.

On the back of the one all draw against Norwich City at Carrow Road last weekend, Slutsky feels our performances have warranted more points so far this year as we sit in 16th place in the table.

Speaking to the Official Site with 13 points returned from a possible 36 so far this year, Slutsky explained.

‘Of course, 16th position is not for us. We deserve a higher position. We have played some of the best teams, such as Wolves and Fulham, and in each match we had chances to win the game.’

Slutsky went on to say.

‘I can`t remember a match when any team had an unbelievable advantage over us, including against Derby. In that game, we had more shots, attacks, corners. There wasn`t a big difference in the quality of the teams, just the scoreline. We need not only hard work and a good performance, but also some luck in certain situations. We have not had the greatest amount of luck so far and hopefully, that will change in the near future.’

He added.

‘Without the last five minutes in games, we would have seven or eight points more and would be in a much higher position in the league. I think we deserve another position but we must prove our level in the next matches. We must continue to work hard, recover quickly and go again.’

In his own post game press conference, Dicko told the Hull Daily Mail that he was delighted to have opened his club account in the game, but he felt if we could perform consistently like that moving forward we would soon turn around our away form.

‘We don`t think a lot about this record. We all know about it but we are not focused on it. After a performance like this there is not much more we can do but we must keep belief for the next away game. There were a lot of positive signs. It`s still early in the season and hopefully soon we will win more games. Against Norwich we played as a team. Everyone gave everything. You can`t fault the players or the manager. We can fault somebody else but that`s how it is.’

With David Meyler sent off in the game, as well as match day referee Keith Stroud playing more than the allotted stoppage time, Dicko went on to say.

‘For me it wasn`t a red card, no chance. Even the first yellow he gets is harsh but referees make decisions and you can`t argue. It`s difficult but it`s gone now. We are all very disappointed. It`s never easy to come to Norwich and we did really well with our game plan. We were really close to winning but some decisions didn`t really help us. It`s harsh to not win but it could always be worse when you have 10 men. I thought we had won it. I think the time was over so there was nothing more we could do. We held out for the time with 10 men but that`s football.’

He went on to add.

‘I`m not going to lie, when you score as a striker you are always happy. It`s the best feeling ever. But when you score and your team wins, it is so much better. It`s a mixed feeling. I`m disappointed we haven`t won but I`m glad to have scored as a striker. It`s hard when you play and you don`t score so I`m happy that I`m off the mark for Hull City. Hopefully there will be many more goals to come.’
