At the start of the day, I am sure most City fans would have taken a draw against Yorkshire rivals Leeds United.
Leeds are chasing promotion and with City sitting near the bottom of the league, any neutral would predict a Leeds United win.
Luckily, Derbies aren’t like that are they! A heavily anticipated match didn’t fail to amaze as City ran out deserved winners, even if the scoreline only read 1-0.
The Beast Jon Parkin was again a key figure and his winning goal increased his already growing reputation with the City fans.
City out-played Leeds for large parts of the game, and unlike at Elland Road, the performance came over a ninety minute period rather than just fourty-five.
It would be hard to pick out a man of the match performer as it really was a team performance.
With Sheffield United picking up a point, Leeds chance of automatic promotion looks all but over thanks to the Tigers.
Nice feeling isn’t it. See you again next season Leeds!!
