Goalkeeper Mark Oxley will further his development as a player by spending six months with Scottish Championship side Hibernian.

The 23 year old has only made a substitute debut for Hull since joining us, but he has taken in previous loan spells with Walsall, Grimsby and Burton where he played a handful of games before making a loan move to Oldham Athletic last season where he made 43 appearances for them across all competitions, before Hull recalled him when he did finally lose his place in their side after such a sustained run.

In the search of more regular first team action again, he moves to Hibs initially for the six months, but it is with a view to extending it for the whole season if all goes well.

Speaking to the Official Site as the move was announced, Oxley said.

‘I’m really pleased to sign for Hibs – it’s a big club with a positive atmosphere around the place and I’m excited about the future. As soon as I spoke to the manager, I quickly realised that Hibs are a club going in the right direction and I wanted to be part of it. This is a great opportunity for me and I’m determined to seize my chance by helping Hibernian to win as many games as possible and to get the club back into the Scottish Premiership.’

So far in his career, helped hugely by his spell at Oldham, Oxley now has 52 appearances to his name and all but one of those are starts.
