Pitch – Worse Than Chelsea?

As I took up my seat at the KC today I couldn’t believe how bad the pitch was. I had heard rumours it was poor but didn’t expect it to be like it was – it was almost resembling the likes of ‘Shamford Bridge.’

Now I know some fans will blame the egg chasers but that can’t be the only problem. We now have a pitch made up half of grass and half of weave which means it is harder to maintain.

Also, the height of the West Stand means it must be hard to encourage grass to grow.

When we were at Boothferry Park, we always won awards for the quality of out pitch and our groundsman was one of the best in the country.

The ball clearly bobbled around during the game and it can’t help us when we are trying to play a passing game of football.

We need to sort it out – perhaps it should be re-laid, but I wouldn’t know how much that would cost. I just hope the poor state of the pitch doesn’t affect our on pitch performances.

I am not trying to blame the pitch for today’s performance or trying to suggest that, but City fans must admit it takes away the beauty of the KC to see the pitch in such an awful state.

I agree Matt, when we walked into the east stand we couldnt believe the state of it either. For a team that likes to play flowing football, it certainly didnt help it.
The Rugby league boys will not be helping matters either.
