South Yorkshire Police are to investigate alleged claims from Hull City fans that Sheffield Utd goalkeeper Paddy Kenny made intimidating gestures towards them during the Tigers 3-2 defeat against The Blades on Saturday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said in a statement ‘Complaints have been received from Hull fans that the goalkeeper made gestures,’

Superintendent Martin Hemingway, head of the Sheffield Football, Events and Licensing Unit, added: ‘A number of complaints have been received and officers are looking into them. We need to get a full picture of what is alleged and gather the available evidence.

‘There is no doubt that events on the field affect the behaviour of spectators and allegations of deliberate taunting are always taken very seriously.’

The F.A have said in a statement that any action taken by themselves will be dependant on the Police findings.

Were you at the game on Saturday and if so what is your side of it. Please feel free to comment on this article.
