Poor Performance – Humiliating Score

Hull City endured their worst defeat in the league since 1998 when they lost 5-1 to Colchester last night.

The only bright note on a disastrous night for Parkinson’s men was Nicky Forster netting his first goal in a Tigers shirt. Once we had taken the lead, things started to go downhill. Chris Iwelumo single handily destroyed the Tigers, netting four times with Jamie Cureton netting the other. Of course, City’s ‘defence’ also helped aid their cause.

If the loss wasn’t bad enough, the manner in which it occurred adds insult to injury. The team`s apparent lack of desire contributed to the ill-feeling after the match.

Vital Hull member ‘abellardo’ shared his views after the game after the team fell behind to a dubious Chris Iwelumo penalty,

‘We never got going and after an admittedly controversial penalty and we are 2-1 down. Never mind regroup…..oops 3-1.and the city players have given up’

With the Tigers captain Ian Ashbee missing from the starting line-up; it was apparent that the team lacked a leader once the team had fallen behind. Although he may not be as technically gifted as other members in the squad, his leadership is second to none.

The end of the game signalled the start of the ‘Parky out’ campaigns with many fans calling for his resignation. After such a humiliating defeat, the confidence off a team that was supposedly high must now be shattered. How they react on Saturday will be critical in keeping Phil Parkinson in his current job.

Unfortunately, the apparent lack of desire was there for all to see. Every fan that travelled seemed to echo the same sentiments. Vital Hull regular ‘dazednconfused’ added,

‘Second half was an absolute capitulation … I have never witnessed a bunch of ‘professional’ football players look so lost and basically spend more time arguing with each other than playing the game.’

Saturday’s game is now critical for both Phil Parkinson and Adam Pearson. Pearson must be sensing he made a wrong appointment, but will he stand by his word or will he act on the demands of the fans and sack Parkinson if results don’t drastically turn around?

Whatever happens, this is a defining week in the history of Hull City, and one we must follow closely. As always, we’ll be keeping you fully updated.

My blood is still boiling, I just want him out now, that’s it, he has had his chance. Where only four points away from safety, we get rid now we can still survive this season. I just fear the worse. Southampton on Sat, a must win for us, and Southampton are 8th in the league, Grzegorz Rasiak is on fire.

    Not good reading is it.
