Price has been playing an important role in the team of late but hasn’t been considered a first team regular this season and Taylor has decided to let him move clubs.

He is expected to join Doncaster for a small fee later today.

If he passes a medical he could play against Blackpool tonight – who should be featuring ex-tiger Marc Joseph in their team.

Taylor was keen to keep Price, but the offer was improved and he decided to sell:

‘It’s been a very difficult decision for me because I love Pricey to bits,’ Taylor told the Mail. ‘He’s been in the team in recent weeks but I couldn’t say for sure he’ll still be in my plans for next season.

‘I’m looking for the future here and if I can’t offer him longer than next year but he then gets offered longer elsewhere, I’ve got to look at that for him.

‘Jason was out of contract at the end of this year and it was either a one-year with us or longer at another club like Doncaster.

‘I’ve got to act in his interests and as a player in back-to-back promotions, I couldn’t stop him having guaranteed work.’

Pricey has played 75 games for the club, scoring 13 goals and was a great servant in helping the club gain back-to-back promotions.

Taylor added: ‘Doncaster have been in for Pricey for a while but he wanted the chance to play in the Championship – and he did that. I’d like to thank him for his efforts.’

All here at hull.vitalfootball.co.uk wish him all the best in his future career and thank him for his efforts over the two and a half years he has been here.
