Rogers will make his debut against Hartlepool United.

Rogers is expected to add competition and cover to the left-back position, but needs to prove his fitness and ability to Taylor first.

Taylor said: ‘He’s hungry to prove a point after his time at Nottingham Forest,’

‘If he can play most of the game tomorrow, I would say he’ll be playing in the first team within two or three weeks.

‘I told him that if he could prove to me he was two weeks from full-fitness, I would take him and now I’ve got no doubts over that.’

Thelwell is also expected to have another run-out and will hope to build upon the 45 minutes he played in his last outing.

‘He’ll definitely be given longer than his 45 minutes last week – who knows, it could be the whole game.

‘But if he keeps getting one reserve game in every week, he could be as little as a month away from first-team contention.’

Danny Coles is expected to be making a reserve team recall within two weeks.

‘Danny trained all of last week and looked very positive and I would imagine he could be in line for a reserve game in a fortnight.

‘He’s done very well with his recovery and could be in contention for the first team late next month.’
