Hull City right-back Sam Ricketts was involved in Wales’ 2-2 draw with New Zealand on Saturday.

His cap against New Zealand was his ninth during his time with the Tigers after completing a move from Swansea City last summer.

Ricketts has been a regular in both the Hull and Wales side since making his international debut against Hungary in 2005, but on Saturday, the Tigers defender had a torrid time as he was at fault for both New Zealand goals.

After two minutes, the defender was beaten by the New Zealand striker as he went on to score, and the same man got the better of an exchange with Ricketts towards the end of the half as he headed New Zealand back into the lead.

The Hull right-back has recorded sixteen caps in total for his country, yet most of those have been playing at left-back. Although the defender has played his league career as an established right-back with Swansea and Hull City, the Welsh defender is often played at left-back when representing his country.

The right-back represented the Tigers forty times in the league last season after his summer move, making the right-back position his own ahead of Ryan France and Alton Thelwell.
