Hull are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Andrew Robertson in Hull’s two-nil win at the KC Stadium against Birmingham on Saturday was enough to earn a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Robertson was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the Football League blurb read.

‘Hull closed the gap on the unbeaten Brighton & Hove Albion at the top of the Sky Bet Championship with a 2-0 win against fellow promotion hopefuls Birmingham City.

‘As well as helping to preserve a clean sheet, Robertson marauded down the left-hand side constantly and his fine wing play set up Abel Hernandez for the second Tigers goal.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Robertson for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points in this win that took Hull up to second.

Full Team – Tom Heaton (Burnley), Andrew Robertson (Hull City), Carl McHugh (Plymouth Argyle), Hayden White (Blackpool), Fernando Forestieri (Sheffield Wednesday), George Thorne (Derby County), Abu Ogogo (Shrewsbury Town), Darren Ambrose (Colchester United), Zak Ansah (Newport County), Moussa Dembele (Fulham), Aiden O’Brien (Millwall).

Manager – Martin Allen (Barnet)
