Duffy has completed his move and is training with his new team mates today. He is expected to make his debut on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

Duffy has represented Scotland at Under-21 level but and wants to become a recognised first team regular with the main squad.

I don’t think it will be a case of out of sight, out of mind by moving to England with regards to the Scottish international scene,’ said Duffy.

‘On the contrary, Kenny Miller is Scotland’s first choice striker and he plays for Wolves in the Championship – it’s done his chances no harm.

‘Steve Thompson – who is also a regular – has joined Cardiff so it shows Scottish players can still get recognised in England.

‘It would have been more a case of out of sight, out of mind playing in the lower leagues in my own country than it would be playing in the Championship.

‘This is a massive league and hopefully I can score a few goals and maybe get into Walter Smith’s thoughts in the future.’

Duffyb was delighted that the deal which first came about six months ago has now been completed.

‘I’m delighted the deal has gone through because at one stage I thought it was never going to happen,’ Duffy told the Daily Record.

‘I was just in limbo waiting for a yes or a no. It was hard to focus my mind on anything else.’

He added: ‘I’m going to Hull City to give it my best shot. In Peter Taylor, they’ve got a tremendous manager with a world class reputation. It’s a great move for me and a new challenge.

‘I was taken around the stadium on Monday and it’s an unbelievable venue with regular big crowds – I can’t wait to play there.

‘I’ll be facing big teams like Leeds, Norwich, Sheffield United and Wolves every week – all former Premiership sides.

‘I’m excited and nervous about the future. People were pessimistic about my chances when I left Rangers and signed for Falkirk but I proved them wrong.’

Good luck Daryl – lets hope you have a great career with us.
