Tigers Season Ticket Sales down

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has today announced that season ticket sales are down by 2000 on last years figure, with the K.C ticket office selling 11,900 passes so far, compared to 13,900 at this time last year.

Pearson put the drop in sales down to a number of factors including the Tigers performances on the pitch. With City gaining promotion to the Championship last season an upturn in ticket sales followed with fans looking forward to playing teams like, Leeds, Wolves, Norwich etc.

Unfortunately under manager Peter Taylor the performances on the pitch became drab defensive displays with the Tigers winning just 8 of their home games last season at an average of a goal a game.

The City Chairman is hoping that a new brand of open attacking football under boss Phil Parkinson will win the fans over and get them coming back through the turnstiles.

Last seasons average attendance of 19,841 places the Tigers 12th in the attendance table, 4000 more than promoted Watford and only 400 less than champions Reading. If last years trend is maintained then the K.C average attendance this season will be around the 16,000 mark. Obviously if the Tigers perform on the pitch and are up there challenging then the attendance figures could & should get back up to the 20,000+ mark.

There were a lot of Games sold out last year. I don’t have a season pass simply because I don’t have the money. If passes are down, the missing seats will just be filled with people without the passes.

City will still be averaging very high crowds this season – I’m sure of it.
