Hull are set to field two trialists in a reserve match with Grimsby Town this afternoon.

With Phil Brown looking to add to his squad to continue his side`s play-off push, the City manager is set to use today`s reserve game as the perfect opportunity to look at two possible additions. One of these trialists is expected to be former QPR defender John Curtis, who has been with the club for the past week, but the other is unknown.

Neil Clement, who was supposed to finalise his move to Hull on Monday but of which no official comment has been made is also expected to play, with the left-back, who can also play at centre-back, in contention to play at Bristol City following Michael Turner`s suspension.

With Brown set to be without Turner, this match may be used as an experiment to see which of his squad can provide the best cover in the centre of the defence, with Simon Walton one of those players trying to force his way into Brown`s plans.

Strange to have heard nothing about the loan deal for Clement as you say, perhaps also waiting for the game to access if he can cut the mustard first.

This is not a “behind closed doors game” it is a reserves game at Blundell Park anyone can go and pay on the gate. The loan deal for Clement went through on Monday according to todays Hull Daily Mail. Brown says either Clement or Walton will deputise for Turner on Saturday and he will be watching tonights reserve game to decide.
