Seeing as how the end of the season is at hand, the time feels right to start to think about who’s going to stay this summer and who’s on the way out. So to this end, the site journalists, except Dazed, to put their heads together and try to decide who’s staying or going. In addition, each player was given a numerical rating of 0-10, with 0 meaning in their view the player is out and 10 meaning they’re staying.

Bo Myhill
Captainmiffymoo – 5; 50/50 at the moment, if a Premiership club comes in for him then I reckon we might sell him and use the cash to strengthen the team, ready for next season.
mdjw_41 – 8; Unless a ‘big-money’ offer arrives, and that means a million pounds plus, then he will be staying at the club. I have a feeling PT might come knocking for him though.
RabidRob – 8; Although a good shot stopper, I don’t think the rest of his game is good enough to bring in the big offers. Would benefit from a better GK coach.

Matt Duke
Captain – 10; Can’t see him going anywhere, still a decent back up keeper when called upon.
mdjw – 8; Unlikely to move anywhere as he will continue to sit on our bench all season long.
Rabid – 10; Has improved, and is good backup keeper. Depends on how much he wants first team football.

Curtis Aspden
Captain – 7; Might go out on loan for the season
mdjw – 6; Not sure on his future but at young age he may as well remain with the club and train in a better environment than moving down a couple of leagues.
Rabid – 7; Good reserve keeper, and will benefit from being around Duke and Myhill.

Andy Dawson
Captain – 10; Solid left back, though if we get Mills then I can see him as cover for Ricketts on the left.
mdjw – 9; Might struggle to make the team if Danny Mills was signed but he won’t be replaced.
Rabid – 9; Can’t see him going anywhere, has made the left-back his own, and looks to have developed the deadball skills he always had.

Danny Coles
Captain – 0; Will be gone back to league one where he belongs.
mdjw – 5; If we get a good offer for him, we may as well let him leave, although he provides useful cover
Rabid – 3; Ipswich will be his City memorial, he may well decide to go without PB asking, especially if he think his oppotunities will be limited.

Michael Turner
Captain – 10; No way will Brown get rid, our best defender this season and sure to be better for the experience next time round
mdjw – .10; First-team regular now and not going anywhere
Rabid – 10; No chance of him leaving. Should be awesome next season.

Damien Delaney
Captain – 10; Like Turner, can’t see him going though he could find himself more of a back up player if we bring new blood in
mdjw – 9; Unless a big offer arrives on the chairman’s desk, Delaney is a vital part of the team whom we must hold onto.
Rabid – 9; Has improved over the season, and with the experience of a relegation fight, DD ought be a tougher player next time.

Sam Ricketts
Captain – 10; Staying but will be first choice left back.
mdjw – 10; Best right-back at the club for a while and an unsung hero of the team.
Rabid – 9; A fixture at right-back this season. He was missed when absent for one reason or another.

Sam Collins
Captain – 0; Bye Bye Sam
mdjw – 5; I don’t think he will go anywhere but he may as well as he won’t get many games here
Rabid – 4; The injury hasn’t helped and his chances at the KC might well be limited from now on.

Scott Wiseman
Captain – 0; Also gone in the summer, probably to league two.
mdjw – 3; Going to go somewhere in my opinion. Not good enough to displace Ricketts, and he’s probably behind France as a right-back too. We also have Doyle in the building.
Rabid – 3; Scott hasn’t developed enough to warrant a place at City, but he would make a good lower division right back.

Midfielders and forwards

Nathan Doyle
Captainmiffymoo – 10; Could be a future star or a complete doughnut, who knows?
mdjw – 7; Only just signed but we should see him next season. Surprised he hasn’t featured yet.
Rabid – 8; An unknown but well thought of at his previous clubs. Could be a very versatile player in the coming seasons.

Ian Ashbee
Captain – 2; Will he go, don’t know. Would I like him to go… yes.
mdjw – 8; Signed a new deal with the club and will continue to play for us.
Rabid – 7; How does he do it? Not the most technically gifted of players, but it’s not stopped him being a key player in City’s midfield.

Stuart Elliott
Captain – 0; Think he will go to one of the relegated clubs like Leeds or Luton.
mdjw – 5; Might leave if his asthma is such a problem. It would be sad to see him go, perhaps he has a place on the bench? But he hasn’t in recent weeks.
Rabid – 6; When on form, he’s brilliant, but he hasn’t shown it much recently, and might consider having a bit of time away to rediscover some form.

Nick Barmby
Captain – 10; He will still be here but it could be as a player/coach.
mdjw – 7; If injuries persist we should get rid but he is important so will stay.
Rabid – 7; A big influence in the City dressing room, and if the injuries persist, he might consider reducing his on-field time, and going into the coaching side of the game.

Ray Parlour
Captain – 0; He won’t hang around in the summer.
mdjw – 0; Not quick enough anymore and I wouldn’t want us signing him on a permanent deal in the Summer.
Rabid – 1; As much as I wouldn’t mind seeing him stay for next season, it would take a big deal to make him stay.

John Welsh
Captain – 10; Is a good squad player, he needs a run in the side though.
mdjw – 6; Will be out for a long time with injury so no hope of moving anywhere. Good back-up.
Rabid – 6; Unlikely to be a regular starter for City, he might decide that pastures are greener elsewhere.

Dean Marney
Captain – 10; Same as Welsh.
mdjw – 7; Unlikely to move but he must improve next season to avoid being cut from the team in the Winter transfer window.
Rabid – 8; In recent matches off the bench, he’s begun to show the reason why he’s been so highly thought of. With a boost in confidence, he should do well.

David Livermore
Captain – 5; He may well go back to London, possibly Southend.
mdjw – 9; Vital component of the team who must stay.
Rabid – 8; Unlikely to go, as he’s become the mainstay of City’s left side of midfield, does the simple things well, and few teams have a players that does that.

Ryan France
Captain – 0 Will be released also.
mdjw – 3; Like Welsh, has suffered a bad injury so little chance of moving anywhere.
Rabid – 5; Unlucky with the injury, but will be a good utility player down the right, when he recovers.

Nicky Forster
Captain – 10; Good back up striker if we get a new one in.
mdjw – 10; Vital part of the front-line and will stay.
Rabid – 9; Although he hasn’t hit the target as often as we would like, his workrate has been faultless. He’ll stay.

Stephen McPhee
Captain – 10; Same as Forster, could well be battling it out for the second striker spot.
mdjw – 6; Has to prove fitness and goal-scoring attributes to remain at the club.
Rabid – 7; Has much to prove, both in fitness and ability. If he can get both right, then there’s no reason for him to go.

Jon Parkin
Captain – 0; Definitely going, The Potteries are calling
mdjw – 0; Gone, gone, gone!
Rabid – 0; Close the door as you go, JP. If Stoke have indeed agreed a deal, then he can go.

Darryl Duffy
Captain – 0; Likewise, off to South Wales methinks.
mdjw – 2; If we get a good offer, Duffy will leave the club.
Rabid – 6; Unlucky in that City have not been able to give him the kind of service that he requires to get goals, thanks to the relegation fight. He will probably stay to fight for his place, and PB does seem to rate him.

Michael Bridges
Captain – 5; Tough one to call this, hasn’t figured much under Brown though might be given a second chance.
mdjw – 3; Released or let go for a small fee over the Summer – ended up being a waste of money.
Rabid – 5; No question about his abilities, will probably be offered a second chance but the winter transfer window could be his time for going if it doesn’t work out.

Nicky Featherstone
Captain – 10; more sub appearances I reckon next season
mdjw – 5; Seems to have a future ahead of him but here? Let’s wait and see.
Rabid – 6; Not seem enough of him to make a judgment but he’ll do well training with the first team.

Loan Players
Dean Windass
Captain – 0; Have a feeling that Bradford could offer him a management role.
mdjw – 8; We will sign Deano in the Summer, even if age is against him
Rabid – 8; The man himself still thinks he can do a job in the Championship, and admits doesn’t want to waste his time in League Two. He’ll be back, and over time could be a useful addition to the backroom motivational staff.
Lee Peltier
Captain – 0; He will go back to Liverpool.
mdjw – 2; Can’t see him signing permanently although I wouldn’t mind another season of him on loan with us.
Rabid – 3; Even if we never have him back, I think the lad has been a useful addition to the City squad when times were hardest.

some good points made there…I just hope and I really do that the powers that be recognise the changes that have to be made to take this club forward on the pitch…some are difficult to deliver but all the same must be made ….
