Yeates To Make Hull Debut?

Will on-loan winger Mark Yeates, signed from Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur, make his debut against Sheffield Wednesday in-front of the SKY camera’s tomorrow night?

The fans certainly want to see the winger as 63% said they would play Yeates on the left wing tomorrow night, according to Vital Hull’s latest poll.

So far this season, Ryan France, Nick Barmby and Dean Marney have all tried and failed playing the left wing role. Although Ryan France has achieved the most success in this troublesome position, he hasn’t been effective. By not playing a left footed player on the left wing, it is easy to defend the cross as the player is always going to cut inside onto his right foot.

Despite joining the club in mid August, the City fans are still waiting to see what impact the winger can make. Yeates was signed shortly after recovering from an injury sustained during pre-season at Spurs, but that didn’t put Parkinson off signing a player whom he had successfully worked with during his promotion campaign at Colchester United.

32% of the fans who voted were left asking ‘is he fit yet’ but with an appearance on the subs bench at Leicester, the winger must be close to making his first appearance. With two reserve games under his belt, against Lincoln City and York City, Yeates may be about to fill the void on the left wing.

With two experienced strikers now spearheading the City strike-force, it will be up to Yeates to provide the ammunition they need to score the goals that will see City climb out of the relegation zone and up the league table.

Only 4% of readers said that Parkinson should stick with Ryan France. Although this statistic may suggest France has been poor, he has done the best job out of anyone in a tricky position that isn’t natural to him. With Yeates the obvious candidate to solve those problems, France would either be facing a stint on the substitute`s bench or a battle with Craig Fagan to adopt the right wing role. With Fagan also struggling of late, France may switch back to his natural wide right position to provide the team with more balance by playing two natural wide men.

With the signing of Danny Mills also complete, Parkinson has twenty-one fit players to choose from for the fixture against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow night. With all of City’s well documented injury troubles, it seems things are starting to turn around and Parkinson has been able to build a squad that has strength in depth.

Parkinson will be facing a selection dilemma but after the side picked up their first win of the season on Tuesday night, Parkinson may opt to stick with an unchanged side.

yeates is right footed, he is a great footballer, similar in style to Gazza (not because he looks fat) he can play left or right but of the main striker in the hole is his best position
