It’s been a long time coming but the on-off transfer to Hull of Michael Dawson has been completed this evening.

An undisclosed fee has finally seen the defender seal his move to the KC Stadium from Tottenham Hotspur, with him signing a three-year deal with the club being handed shirt no.21.

Dawson follows in the footsteps of his older brother Andy in playing for the club, he was a long-term servant of the club and now his 30-year-old brother can follow suit with it that family connection that helped play a part in this move.

The four-times capped England international played more than 300 times for Spurs in his nine-years with the club but said in his interview not too long ago on the official website that he felt the time was right for a new challenge with this move right for him.

If Dawson can show his very best form an England recall isn’t out of the question.

You’ve got a good man there, unfortunatly he’s not exoyic enough for Spurs fans,if his name was Fiorezola he woulkd be adored ,but Dawson for gods sake.Good luck Michael thanks for everything.

1.You have signed a proper footballer who gave his all to the Lillywhite shirt for 9.5 years and who will do nothing less for Hull. I am sad to see him go but I wish him and his family all the best at Hull and he should know that he will always be remembered fondly and greeted with enthusiasm at the Lane when he visits us with the Tigers. Good luck and God bless Daws! You are very much appreciated.

I feel sad. I’ll miss his heart and professionalism playing for my club. I always got the sense he was a fan that got to play for the team he loved. Seemed to give his all and had a few choice words for others around him that didn’t ! Could be a liability but for me there’s a massive character and a great man who’s just left us. Have a great time at the KC Michael and Levy give out man a testimonial! One of a kind of this generation. Thank You Michael Dawson.

Nothing but respect for Michael Dawson. In a day where it’s all too common to see professional footballers throw their toys out their pram when they don’t make the 11, Daws could not have been more opposite. Never gives anything less than 100% for the shirt, an absolute model pro and a role model for younger kids on how to behave on & off the pitch. Good luck up north Daws, & thank you for the service

Hull fans, you’ve got yourself a cracking player. Always gave 100% for the Spurs shirt and I’m sure he’ll do exactly the same for you. All the very best for the future Michael Dawson, (unless you’re playing against us of course!) Another one here urging Danny boy Levy to grant Daws a testemonial when he eventually retires.
(Shows how much the Spurs fans appreciate Michael Dawsons contribution to our club, all the comments on here are from Spurs fans.)
