Hull City Stars Playing For Future

Hull City travel to Sheffield United at the weekend looking to continue their recent good form.

Victories against Crewe Alexandra, Plymouth Argyle and Leeds United coupled with a draw at Ipswich Town means the Tigers have collected ten points from their last twelve which has all but assured the Tigers of Championship football next season.

Peter Taylor has now urged his players to make it five unbeaten as they travel to high-flying Sheffield United.

The game will be a tricky one for the Tigers side. Although they should be full of confidence after beating Leeds United, Sheffield United will know that a victory will all but give Bramall Lane Premiership football next season.

Even though the pressure or relegation has all but been lifted from the Tigers players, there is still the pressure of their future hanging over them.

A series of good performances over the next five games could ensure they remain a City player at the start of next season rather than being part of the summer clear-out.

Some players have already recognised this, as has been shown by the recent performances of midfielder Stuart Green who has considerably improved his game.

With a transfer budget of £1.5 million lined up for summer transfer targets and the return of long term absentees, the Hull City squad should be a lot stronger come pre-season.

A good end to the season will provide City with confidence they can carry onto next season, and provide City fans with hope of doing well next term.

Peter Taylor has also recognised the importance of a good end of season run and has challenged his players to finish in the top half.

City have a tough run in with the club still having to face three of the top six sides in the Championship. However, Taylor is confident the club can build on the recent good form and if we can keep it going, we might just see Hull City in the top half come the end of the season.
